Latest Trends in Mobile Learning and Just in Time Learning

Today’s successful sales representatives are on the go and out seeing prospects in clients – not sitting in their office behind a desk. Therefore, if you want financial professionals to engage with your digital learning content, it’s imperative you make it available for them to access when they want it, where they want it.

According to LinkedIn Learning, 46% of talent developers stated their area of focus currently is on developing “just in time learning.” Because of the demands on our time in today’s working environment, having to go out of our way to engage in professional learning and development has become a huge challenge. It has become imperative for talent developers to create learning opportunities that are flexible and easy to access. For this reason, creating flexibility through mobile learning and mobile responsive eLearning design has become essential for learning success.

Just look at some of the latest research on mobile trends:

  • The average person spends 2 hours, 51 minutes on their smartphone each day (Dscout)
  • The average person looks at their smartphones roughly 221 times per day and touches the screen more than 2,600 times per day (Dscout)
  • 46% of learners use mobile learning before they go to sleep at night (Learner Events)
  • 70% of learners report improved motivation and increased engagement when learning on a mobile device (LearnDash)
  • A study by Merrill Lynch’s GoLearn initiative showed improvements in learning time of up to 45% faster on mobile devices when compared to desktops.
